A Different Baby Quilt

A colleague at work is having her baby, next week. So of course I wanted to make a quilt. She doesn't really have a theme for her nursery, but the walls are painted beige. So I went digging in my stash, found a neat little pattern and some batiks. We had a shower for her last Tuesday, of course I didn't get the it done on time but managed to finish it that night all except the label, which sewed on during my prep. period on Wednesday.

Yes this is hanging in a classroom.

Appropriate for a teacher don't you think?

I did some straight line quilting and am very pleased with the end results.
Happy sewing.

That's cool! I need to spend some time working with batiks - they just don't call to me like other fabrics do. I do like the way you played the colors, and it's a great design....
