Retreat Weekend

Last weekend my sister, our friend Annette, and I went on our annual quilting retreat in Ivoryton, Connecticut.

Annette is in the foreground. Judy is taking pictures.
This year we took an applique class. Our teacher, Leslie Cook, has been appliqueing for years. She does beautiful work and one of  the high lights of the class (for me) was that she showed us how to make vines using bias bars. Now maybe I'll tackle a Celtic designed quilt!

Here's Leslie in front of one of her quilts.

Another quilt she made designed from an antique quilt.

Here is my partially completed block.

Okay, I have a way to go before the Celtic quilt.
Tomorrow I'll show you what else I accomplished.
